The Dolphins will release RB Raheem Mostert, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. The move will save Miami a little over $3 million against the 2025 salary cap. Mostert averaged a career-worst 3.3 yards per carry last year and ranked 34th among 51 qualifying RBs in Pro Football Focus rushing grade. He turns 33 in April. Mostert is unlikely to be a fantasy factor in 2025 or beyond. He's cuttable from dynasty rosters.

2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Mostert ranked second on the Dolphins with 85 carries in 13 games. He also handled 24% of the team's red-zone carries and 21% of the carries inside the five-yard line.

Mostert's departure could mean a little more goal-line work for RB De'Von Achane, although the 188-pounder converted just 3 of 14 carries inside the five into TDs last year.

RB Jaylen Wright now has a clearer path to Miami's No. 2 RB job. He averaged just 3.7 yards per carry as a rookie last year but actually led Dolphins RBs in yards after contact per attempt (3.25) and missed tackles forced per attempt (0.24).

We'll see what Miami adds to the backfield this offseason, but Wright looks like an intriguing 2025 fantasy football sleeper.
