Mason Taylor Wows in Combine Drills

Former LSU TE Mason Taylor (and son of NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor) didn't work out at the Combine, but he did join the group for the on-field drills. Taylor came away with rave reviews including a stellar "Gauntlet" Drill where he showcased great catch technique along with superb hand-eye coordination. He is likely a top-100 pick in the NFL Draft.

        What They're Saying

Matt Miller of ESPN: "Mason Taylor is clearly in a different tier than the other tight ends working out"

        Dynasty Impact

Taylor was an impact player for LSU, though he never had a truly dominant season.

But he looked incredibly sharp in all of the Combine drills, showing that he is in a separate tier from the others who worked out (Tyler Warren, Colston Loveland, and Elijah Arroyo did not work out at the Combine).

The Gauntlet drill drew the reviews and social media clips, but Taylor was also great in the blocking drills with good mirror and footwork.

For dynasty purposes, he ran a near full route tree with smooth breaks and good hands. The fundamentals are all there for Taylor to ascend and become a future NFL starting TE.

Keep an eye on his draft capital and how his workout numbers stack up at LSU's Pro Day in about a month.
