        Rams Land Davante Adams

        Davante Adams Headshot

The Rams have agreed to a two-year deal with WR Davante Adams. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports he'll get $46 million, with $26 million of that guaranteed.

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

It's pretty interesting that the Rams are unloading WR Cooper Kupp -- who will turn 32 in mid-June -- to replace him with a guy who's already 32 at nearly the same rate of pay.

That, of course, suggests that the team believes Adams has much more left than Kupp does. And Adams showed no real signs of decline in a 2024 that saw him split time between the Raiders and Jets.

Interestingly, Adams ran a career-high 46.4% of his pass snaps from the slot last season and recorded the second-shortest average target depth of his career (9.1), according to Pro Football Focus.

That's interesting because it might point to Adams being more of a Kupp replacement than the rest of his career -- spent mostly on the outside -- would suggest.

Wherever he lines up, Adams should see plenty of target volume. Kupp finished 19th among WRs in target share last year (adjusted for games missed).

        Dynasty Impact

A 32-year-old WR obviously can't be counted on for tons more production. But getting a two-year deal with a perennially efficient offense that's expected to unload a primary WR clearly helps.

Adams remains a sellable dynasty asset if you find a league mate especially excited about this landing spot. But it's also OK to simply enjoy the remaining production.

        Other Winners & Losers

WR Jordan Whittington is probably the biggest loser here.

The Rams also recently gave WR Tutu Atwell $10 million to stick around for 2025. So that pretty clearly positions Puka Nacua, Adams, and Atwell as the top three wideouts.

That combo further points to the Rams viewing Adams as a Kupp replacement, including plenty of slot snaps. And that's the area in which Whittington would seem to fit most comfortably, based on his 2024 usage.

Atwell also loses some target-share upside with Adams on board. But he was already an iffy bet for volume.

        Projected ADP Movement

Adams has been just the WR27 in Underdog Fantasy ADP so far. I'd bet on him rising from that position. And he's OK to chase into low-WR2 territory.
