Harold Landry Follows Mike Vrabel to New England

The Patriots have agreed to a three-year deal with Edge Harold Landry. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Landry will get $43.5 million, with $26 million fully guaranteed and a maximum value of $48 million. The move reunites Landry with new Patriots HC Mike Vrabel, who was in his first year as Tennessee's HC when the Titans drafted Landry in Round 1. Landry's now heading into his age-29 season.

2025 Fantasy Football Impact

After losing all of 2022 to an ACL tear, Landry played in every game the past two seasons. He tied for 15th among all edge players in QB hits over that span and tied for seventh in tackles for loss.

Landry also tied for just 64th among edges in total pressures last year, according to Pro Football Focus; 42nd the year before.

Although plenty of luck goes into a player's sack total, you probably shouldn't expect more than 10 sacks per year from Landry going forward. He has exceeded 10.5 just once, while going to 9 sacks or fewer in four other seasons.

Landry's a solid-to-good DL option in leagues that balance scoring between tackle and sack production (3 points or less per sack vs. 1 point per solo tackle). Sack-heavier scoring formats chip away at his value, though.

That said, Landry should still help the Patriots' team defense on the sack front. New England had just two players tally more than 2.5 sacks last year and no one exceed 5 sacks.
