ESPN's Peter Schrager revealed that Falcons QB Kirk Cousins could be the fallback option for the Steelers if Aaron Rodgers does not sign with the team. Their current depth chart consists of Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and rookie Will Howard, placing it among the worst in the NFL.
What They're Saying
Peter Schrager of ESPN: "I still think Kirk Cousins is a viable trade candidate if Aaron Rodgers doesn't land in Pittsburgh. I would keep an eye on that one."

With WR George Pickens traded, a QB upgrade in Pittsburgh, whether it's Cousins or Rodgers, would be a huge boost for WR D.K. Metcalf. At least over current presumed starter Rudolph.
Cousins showed he is well past his prime last season with an atrocious stretch for the Falcons where he threw zero TDs and eight INTs. This proved to be a catalyst for QB Michael Penix Jr. to step into the starting role.
Rodgers still remains the favorite to land with the Steelers, though he will likely continue waiting as long as possible because that just seems to be who he is.
At some point, the Steelers will have to move on. Cousins will likely come extremely cheap in a trade though he may have to renegotiate his contract and take a pay cut if he wants to be a starter again.
