The Baltimore Ravens and RB Derrick Henry have agreed upon a two-year $30 million extension with $25 million guaranteed. The extension keeps Henry under contract for the next three seasons through the end of the 2027 season. Henry ran for 1,921 yards and 16 TDs last season, adding a dynamic element to the Ravens' offense. This locks him in with Lamar Jackson for the foreseeable future. Turning 31-years old in January, Henry will be under contract until he turns 34.
What They're Saying
Adam Schefter of ESPN: "Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens reached agreement today on a two-year, $30 million extension that includes $25 million fully guaranteed over the next two seasons, per Todd France of Athletes First. It is the largest deal in NFL history for a running back over 30 years old"
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Despite his age, Henry showed he is still effective as a lead runner. That should continue over the next few seasons. Though Henry's explosion is a large part of his success, his vision and power are factors that should not decline much this season.
The downside of Henry remains his pass catching, catching only 19 passes last year for 193 yards.
Dynasty Impact
Henry should confidently be the starting RB for the Ravens for at least the next two seasons with the possibility of being heavily involved in 2027 as well. Dynasty managers with Henry should plan to be able to ride him as at least an RB2 over the next few seasons.
