Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd has no limitations at the start of voluntary offseason work. A variety of injuries (ankle, hamstring, appendicitis) limited him to one game and six carries as a Round 3 rookie.

What They're Saying

Here’s Packers RB coach Ben Sirmans, via The Athletic.

“I think he’s in a much better spot,” Sirmans said of Lloyd in Year 2. “Mentally, he’s pretty sharp there in the classroom. He’s moving around pretty good out there on the football field. Obviously, we’ve got a lot of high expectations for him because he brings a different blend to our offense, just with his speed and quickness. I’m pretty pleased with him so far and looking forward to getting him out there in a real game situation.”

2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Lloyd’s injury history dates back to 2020, when he sustained a torn ACL in August. Of course, that injury is well in the past. He missed only three games (thigh bruise) from 2021-2023.

His college tape showed an explosive athlete with power. He exited school with a solid 3.62 yards after contact per attempt, including a mark of 3.97 during his final season at USC. Lloyd (5’9, 220) ran a 4.46-forty at the NFL Combine.

Now, the 24-year-old didn't top 115 carries in any college season. But it’s clear the Packers still view him as a valuable backfield piece behind veteran Josh Jacobs. Note that Jacobs handled a massive 358 touches in 2024.

Green Bay opted against adding an RB in the draft or free agency. Rookie WR Savion Williams brings some potential for gadget work, but Lloyd’s primary competition figures to come from UDFA veterans Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks.

Lloyd is one of our favorite deep sleepers in fantasy football drafts.
