Chiefs HC Andy Reid said Thursday that RB Isiah Pacheco "looks tremendous right now." Reid added that Pacheco has put on a "couple pounds of good weight" and is "leaned up."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Pacheco's 2024 season was wrecked by a fractured fibula in September. He returned in late November but averaged just 3.6 yards per carry over his final five regular-season games — and then 2.8 in the playoffs.
But Reid said earlier this offseason that most guys wouldn't even have come back from the injury Pacheco suffered. He clearly wasn't the same player then, but it sounds like he's getting close to pre-injury form now.
Pacheco averaged 17.0 carries and 4.0 targets over the first two games of last season, before suffering the leg injury. And, in 2023, he averaged 14.6 carries and 3.5 targets per game, finishing 14th among RBs in PPR points per game.
The Chiefs re-signed RB Kareem Hunt and added RBs Elijah Mitchell and rookie Brashard Smith this offseason. But a healthy Pacheco is a good bet for clear lead duties this year.
Our ADP Market Index shows Pacheco as a huge value at his current RB35 best ball price tag.
