Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has been impressed by TE Travis Kelce this offseason. "If it's the last ride, you would never know," Mahomes said. Kelce briefly considered retirement after Kansas City's Super Bowl loss but has been a full participant in the team's offseason program.
What They're Saying
More from Mahomes on Kelce: "He's in here. He's working. I know his body feels good. I think he feels better than even last year before going into last season. I think he's motivated to go out there and have an even better year than he had this last."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Kelce is certainly on the decline. He set career lows in multiple categories last year, including yards per catch, yards per target, and yards per route.
But he still finished seventh among TEs in PPR points per game, despite poor TD luck. Kelce scored just three times on 97 catches. And it wasn't for lack of opportunity. He ranked second among TEs with 33 red-zone targets and 10th with seven end-zone targets.
Kelce seems all-in on the 2025 season, despite heading toward age-36. There were reports that he's dropped 25 pounds this offseason, although Kelce would only confirm that he's lost "some weight."
We're expecting his volume to sink a bit this season, but Kelce could rebound in efficiency and TD production. He's a solid value at his ninth-round ADP.
