Titans QB Will Levis will undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder. He injured that shoulder in Week 4 of the 2024 season, but returned after missing for four games. With the shoulder still bothering him, Levis opted for surgery which will cost him the entire 2025 season.
Adam Schefter of ESPN: "Titans QB Will Levis will be undergoing season-ending surgery on the right shoulder injury he sustained early last year before further aggravating it later in the season. Levis has been unable to shake the discomfort and his shoulder still is bothering him.
Levis is, in the words of a source, 'dedicated to return to be able to compete at the highest level possible.'"
Levis was primed to be the primary back-up to rookie number one overall pick QB Cam Ward.
The Titans did add journeyman QBs Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle, who will serve as the back-ups to Ward this season.
Ward will easily be the top QB on the depth chart with little chance of being pulled, even if he struggles. This should lock him into a full year as the starter barring injury.
Levis has an extensive injury history, but last year was the first time he hurt his shoulder in the NFL. This could put his career in jeopardy as the Titans may look to upgrade at the back-up QB spot now with Levis out for the season.
