Jets QB Justin Fields was carted off the field with an a toe injury in training camp. When he got up to get on the cart, he showed a limp in his right leg/foot. The severity of the injury is currently unknown. Players are regularly carted off during training camp for even cramps, so it may not be as significant as it looks.
What They're Saying
Ralph Vacchiano from Fox Sports: "Jets QB Justin Fields was just carted back into the locker room.
He was riding in the front seat and got up to limp inside when the cart stopped. It appeared, from a distance, to be his right foot/leg.
Jets coach Aaron Glenn is scheduled to speak after practice."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Again, the injury to Fields may not be significant and we will wait for more information before jumping to conclusions about his season. In training camp, the cart is used regularly as a precautionary measure, so we will need more information.
A toe injury certainly is better than a knee or ankle injury.
If Fields does miss time, QB Tyrod Taylor is the veteran back-up who still gives some rushing upside.
That would still be a major downgrade at the QB position for the Jets.
Fields received a two-year $40 million contract this offseason to join the Jets as the locked in starter. A season-ending injury would not only end this year but could put his future as a starting QB in doubt.
Other Winners & Losers
If Fields misses games in the regular season., this will greatly hinder the rest of the Jets' offensive weapons. Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson could receive downgrades to their fantasy rankings.
