WR D.J. Chark, who spent last season with the Chargers, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Falcons.
What They're Saying
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network: “The Falcons are signing veteran WR D.J. Chark following today’s visit with the team, sources tell me and RapSheet. Former Jaguars second-rounder heads to Atlanta after a season with the Chargers.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
This news comes just one day after WR Darnell Mooney left practice early with an injury. Mooney reportedly went down while attempting a diving catch. There hasn’t been an update on his status yet, but it is certainly fair to wonder if that injury prompted this signing.
Chark hardly played last season, logging just seven games and failing to even reach 40% of the snaps in any outing. The LSU product has always been a vertical target, averaging 14.4 yards per catch over the course of his career. His skill set overlaps a bit with what Mooney does, which makes this even more intriguing. Last season, Mooney ranked 10th in the NFL in yards before the catch per reception (11.2).
We’ll keep an eye on Mooney’s status going forward. Chark won’t have any fantasy value in Atlanta unless Mooney or WR Drake London misses time this season.
