Falcons WR Darnell Mooney is expected to miss "a few weeks" with a shoulder injury he suffered in practice on Thursday, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
We're still over six weeks away from the start of the season, so it doesn't sound like Mooney is in danger of missing the opener. He's returning to the same offense he played in last year under OC Zac Robinson, although Mooney could use the practice reps with QB Michael Penix. That pair played in just two games together last season, connecting seven times for 119 scoreless yards.
This injury is ultimately unlikely to impact Mooney's 2025 season -- and we're not moving him in the WR rankings right now. But you can also feel free to skip him in upcoming fantasy drafts until we see him back on the field. Mooney was a fine-but-unexciting pick before this injury.
Other Winners & Losers
If this shoulder injury did end up costing Mooney regular-season games, he'd be replaced by either KhaDarel Hodge or the newly signed D.J. Chark. We'll see how that battle plays out over the next month, but neither guy is a worth a look in fantasy drafts right now.
