Lions WR Jameson Williams is coming off a 1,001-yard 2024 season and was particularly productive down the stretch, averaging 74 yards per game over the final five weeks of the regular season. But HC Dan Campbell believes Williams is still on the ascent and "starting to figure it out."
What They're Saying
Campbell on Williams' progress: "Just to watch his development: The discipline of his routes, the strength that he’s obtained, the explosiveness. He’s starting to figure it out now. He’s starting to figure out his body, what he can do. He’s much more detailed ... He’s beginning to tap in to what he really has, but he’s just gotten there. He’s still got so much room to grow.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Few players in the entire league have drawn more praise than Williams this offseason. The 24-year-old seems primed to take another step forward in 2025.
Target share remains a concern in a loaded Lions pass-catching corps. But we like that Williams played a more diverse role over the second half of last season.
He was primarily a deep threat over his first six games, registering a 13.8-yard average target depth and catching just 56.7% of his targets. Over his final nine games, Williams' aDOT sunk to 10.6 yards and his catch rate jumped to 67.2%. He ran more short and intermediate routes, which made him more efficient and more reliable on a week-to-week basis.
We're expecting to see Williams remain in a similar role in 2025. If he can grow his target share by a few percentage points, he could climb into fantasy's top-25 WRs.
