Saints TE Juwan Johnson is dealing with a groin injury. According to Nick Underhill of New Orleans Football, the 28-year-old avoided anything serious and should only miss a few days.
What They're Saying
Underhill: “Juwan Johnson avoided major injury, per source. Expected to miss a few days, but shouldn’t be too bad.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
We’ll track Johnson’s status over the next week, but it sounds like he should be fine. While not exactly a household name in fantasy, Johnson does hold some deep sleeper appeal. With do-it-all weapon Taysom Hill set to miss most of the 2025 season, Johnson could be asked to do more this year.
Hill tore his ACL in Week 13 last year. From that point on, Johnson averaged nearly six targets, 45.2 receiving yards, and 10 PPR points per game. From Weeks 1-12, however, Johnson averaged just 3.6 targets, 30.8 yards, and 7.2 points per game. He also logged at least 70% of the snaps in every game after Hill’s season ended, something he did only twice prior.
Of course, the unsettled QB situation in New Orleans is the main deterrent for Johnson. But as long as he’s healthy, he should run plenty of routes in 2025.
