Packers WR Matthew Golden has "checked every box through his first two days in pads," Packers News' Ryan Wood writes. "Route running. Hands. Physicality. What kind of player Golden becomes will depend on consistency and how he handles unavoidable adversity, but the first-round tangibles are evident."
What They're Saying
QB Jordan Love also likes what he's seen from Golden in camp so far.
"I think that’s one of his specialties that I’ve seen so far, is just the aggressiveness in his hands and always going up there and high pointing the ball," Love said. “He’s got very strong hands, and he’s able to go up and compete for that ball. I think that’s one of those things that’s going to separate him.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Golden has been a standout in camp, according to multiple Packers beat writers. He's seemingly been a regular with the first-team offense, putting him on track to play a significant role out of the gate.
We still have reservations about Golden's profile, namely that he never led a college team in receptions or registered a dominant target share. But the early returns have been promising.
We just nudged Golden up the WR rankings, although we're still behind his WR44 ADP.
