The Bengals have signed TE Noah Fant. The veteran was released on July 20 after three seasons in Seattle.
What They're Saying
Here’s more from Bengals beat writer Paul Dehner Jr. (via X):
“Can confirm #Bengals expected to sign former Seahawks TE Noah Fant.
Both sides were thrilled after his visit, but Fant wanted to weigh all options.
Hard to get past linking up with Joe Burrow. He fills out a YAC skill set lacking in the room, upgrades Tanner Hudson spot.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Fant’s production never took off in Seattle. He didn’t top 500 yards or 4 TD, while he averaged just 3.54 targets per game.
The move to Cincinnati supplies a clear upgrade in pass rate and QB play. But Fant will stick in a part-time role behind target hogs Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The Bengals also signed Mike Gesicki to a three-year deal ($6.5 million guaranteed) in March.
Now, Fant's versatility should help him see the field. In 2024, he set a career-high in slot usage (52.6%). So the team might see him as insurance for Gesicki -- a primary slot asset -- and a young WR group behind the starters.
We ultimately expect Gesicki to out-produce Fant in 2025, making the latter more of a TE-premium stash/deep-league handcuff. Fant is fine to ignore in other formats.
