Titans rookie QB Cam Ward has endured an “up and down” training camp so far, per team reporter Jim Wyatt.
What They're Saying
Here’s more from Wyatt (via Tennessee’s official site):
“Cam Ward is a rookie. Anyone who thought he'd be perfect, with no mistakes, from the get-go had an unrealistic expectation. During the first week of camp, the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft has looked like a first-year player at times, while also providing some Wow moments. Ward had his best practice of camp in the Nissan Stadium practice on Saturday when he made a lot of great throws, and it got the fans excited. In the two practices since, he's thrown four interceptions while admitting the offense has been "very mid" so far…”
Wyatt added that Ward has developed “some nice chemistry” with No. 1 WR Calvin Ridley. The reporter also acknowledged that “a lot of things still need to be sorted out” in the WR room beyond Ridley.
Tennessee's depth includes Tyler Lockett, Van Jefferson, Elic Ayomanor, Chimere Dike, and James Proche.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
The inconsistent start shouldn't surprise anyone. Beyond his rookie status, Ward's playing with an offense that lacks a difference-making pass catcher behind Calvin Ridley. (Just check out the names above.)
Ward's capable of delivering some sneaky-good rushing totals, but he's just a deep-league QB2 to open the season. The Titans open with a brutal road matchup at Denver.
Dynasty Impact
No change here. The 23-year-old figures to have a multi-year leash in Tennessee, but he'll need WR reinforcements to hit his fantasy ceiling.
For now, he slots top-18 in our dynasty QB rankings.
