Panthers WR Jalen Coker hasn't done much to stand out in camp so far, according to The Charlotte Observer's Mike Kaye. Tetairoa McMillan, Xavier Legette, and Adam Thielen have been running as Carolina's top three WRs. And Hunter Renfrow has out-played Coker, per Kaye.
What They're Saying
Kaye: "Jalen Coker seemed like the heir apparent to Adam Thielen entering the offseason program, but Renfrow has quickly outshined last year’s undrafted darling. ... So far during training camp, Coker has simply been a cog in an upgraded and crowded wide receiver room."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Coker's lackluster start to camp follows him missing a portion of the offseason program with a soft-tissue injury.
He had a promising 2024 campaign, tallying 478 yards across 11 games and ranking fourth among 16 qualifying rookie WRs in yards per route. But life is tough as a former undrafted free agent. Coker needs to once again earn his spot on the roster this summer.
We'd ultimately be surprised if Coker got cut. But he's not worth a roster spot in redraft right now, outside of drafts with 20+ rounds.
Other Winners & Losers
We have no interest in Renfrow in fantasy drafts. But the arrow is pointing up on Legette.
"Legette has caught the ball cleanly and consistently in camp," Kaye writes. "While the Panthers need to figure out how often they’ll use Thielen and Renfrow, it’s pretty clear that they want McMillan and Legette to lead the charge now and for the foreseeable future."
