According to ESPN’s Ryan McFadden, Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers and QB Geno Smith are starting to show signs of forming a strong connection. The two reportedly connected multiple times during Friday’s practice session.
What They're Saying
McFadden: “Geno Smith and Jakobi Meyers have the potential to be an intriguing quarterback-wide receiver duo this season. The signs were especially noticeable Friday morning. In a red zone 7-on-7 drill, Smith found Meyers for a touchdown on a corner route. And in the 11-on-11 period, Smith threw another touchdown pass to Meyers in the middle of the field.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
After hauling in 87 passes for 1,027 yards and four TDs last season alongside QBs Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell, Meyers is ready to build on that success alongside Smith. Developing a strong rapport in training camp is a great way to start.
Perennially underrated in fantasy circles, Meyers has now finished as a top-30 WR in each of the past three seasons. Once the Raiders traded WR Davante Adams last year, Meyers took on a larger role, averaging 9.3 targets per game, while posting a healthy 27% target share. Yet despite a massive QB upgrade, the veteran wideout is coming off draft boards outside the top-35, making him one of the best values on the board.
Meyers may not offer league-winning upside. But he’s once again poised to outperform his ADP. He checks in as WR35 in our rankings.
