The Titans have “been impressed” with the receiving ability of rookie TE Gunnar Helm. Helm, almost 23, arrived in Round 4 of the 2025 draft.
What They're Saying
Here's more from ESPN's Turron Davenport, who added positive words on starter Chig Okonkwo.
"Chig Okonkwo is the incumbent, but rookie Gunnar Helm will push for the spot -- or at the very least, get reps in two-tight-end sets. Both players have really caught quarterback Cameron Ward's attention. Okonkwo spent time with Ward in Miami to get a head start on developing chemistry. The Titans staff likes to get Okonkwo the ball and let him pick up yards after the catch.
"Helm has done a good job working the middle of the field and making catches in traffic."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Don't expect much of a 2025 impact from Helm. He posted only one season of starting-level production at Texas and figures to play the No. 2 TE role for most (if not all) of this season.
He's off the fantasy radar, even in TE-premium formats.
Dynasty Impact
Now this is a different story.
Helm's Round 4 draft capital suggests the Titans see him as a potential starter down the line. That time could come in 2026, when Okonkwo is slated for free agency. Note that Tennessee's new staff/front office didn't draft Okonkwo.
A lack of proven WR depth only adds to Helm's appeal as a deep dynasty stash.
