Jaguars HC Liam Coen gave his most detailed answer yet about the plan for Travis Hunter on an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. And it has us even more excited about Hunter's 2025 fantasy outlook.
What They're Saying
Here's Coen on Hunter's playing time this season: "If you say you’re gonna play 65 to 75 snaps on offense, and he’s playing 80% of those snaps or so? And then, defensively, you look at trying to match that number as much as possible? ... We want to play him as much as we can, that’s the reality."
Coen also talked up Hunter's development so far this offseason, particularly at WR: "He has taken massive strides, specifically at the receiver position, of truly playing it, how to run each route, how to attack leverage. His ball skills and body control are extremely natural. Extremely natural. You can’t really coach that.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
We're certainly not taking this as a precise projection on Hunter's snaps this season. But if we read between the lines, it sure sounds like the priority is to have Hunter play a bunch on offense -- and then figure out how many defensive snaps he can add on top.
Playing time has been and will continue to be our biggest concern with Hunter's 2025 fantasy value. We have little doubt about his talent as a WR or his opportunity within this offense when he's on the field.
Hunter continues to look like an exciting pick at his WR32 ADP.
