Colts WR Adonai Mitchell got off to a rough start in training camp, struggling with drops. But he's turned it around lately and was the star of Tuesday's joint practice with the Ravens, according to multiple Colts beat writers.
What They're Saying
ESPN's Stephen Holder: "AD Mitchell was fantastic. Like, incredible. I still don't know if it'll carry over to the regular season, because he failed to do that after a strong camp last year. But if this is a preview of what he can be someday, he is on track to be this team's best WR in the future."
The Indy Star's Nate Atkins: "Adonai Mitchell turned in another monstrous performance. ... The strides this training camp have been clear, and the fit in the offense is starting to become clear, too."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Mitchell was never a reliable fantasy play as a rookie last year. But he did some good things.
He was one of the best separators in the league, according to multiple metrics. Mitchell ranked eighth among 116 qualifying WRs in ESPN Open Score and seventh in Fantasy Points' Separation Score. That helped him draw a target on 25% of his routes, which ranked 19th among those 116 WRs.
Mitchell still has a long way to go to be a 2025 fantasy factor. He's likely still fourth on the depth chart behind WRs Michael Pittman, Josh Downs, and Alec Pierce. And even if he climbs into the top three, he'd need much better QB play than what he got last year.
Still, consider this a reminder to keep Mitchell on your radar. He's a potential buy-low in dynasty leagues after the disappointing box-score production as a rookie.
