Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh was noncommittal regarding RB Najee Harris’ Week 1 availability, according to Kris Rhim of ESPN.
What They're Saying
Rhim: “When asked Friday whether there’s a chance [Najee] Harris isn’t ready for the Chargers’ season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil, Harbaugh said ‘there’s a chance he is.’”
Harbaugh, via Rhim: “I don’t comment because I’m not a doctor. I’m not Mr. Harris’ agent, either. I’m talking about what I know, and ‘Can he open his eye?’ ‘Yeah.’ I’ve looked into his eye. I can tell you stuff like that.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
As usual, Harbaugh isn’t offering much on the injury front.
Harris hasn’t done anything but walk laps since hurting his eye over a month ago, while rookie RB Omarion Hampton has been dominating reps with the first-team offense. Beyond missing valuable practice time, Harris is also still trying to learn a new offense, leaving him noticeably behind heading into his first season with the Chargers.
Harris continues to plummet in the rankings, while Hampton checks in as a mid-range RB2.
