Jacksonville WR/DB Travis Hunter caught two passes for nine yards during Saturday’s preseason game against the Steelers. Hunter played both sides of the ball, but the Jaguars seemed to prioritize him on offense in this game.

Snaps and usage are always worth tracking during the preseason, but few players draw more attention than Hunter. Set to play both WR and CB, Hunter’s playing time is under a microscope.
The Jaguars said Hunter would play both sides of the ball during their preseason opener, but the team’s main focus, at least with the starters, was to play Hunter at WR. He played all but one snap with the first-team offense, according to Nathan Jahnke of Pro Football Focus. When the starting offense’s day was done, Hunter then shifted to the defensive side of the ball.
Everything is very fluid when it comes to Hunter. His usage and role can change on a weekly basis, even as soon as next week. But if he is going to even flirt with the type of offensive usage we saw this past weekend, Hunter will have a very good chance of outperforming his WR31 ADP.
