Miami RB Alexander Mattison suffered a neck injury that requires season-ending surgery, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Fowler: “Dolphins RB Alexander Mattison has a neck injury that requires surgery, per sources. He’s expected to make a full recovery but will be out for the 2025 season. Has full strength and motion.”
Thankfully, Mattison has full strength and motion. Quietly having a strong camp in Miami, Mattison’s season is now over, which explains why the Dolphins hosted veteran free agent RB Jamaal Williams for a workout.
We’ll see if Williams joins the team, but as it currently stands, rookie RB Ollie Gordon is now poised for the RB3 role behind RBs De’Von Achane and Jaylen Wright. Achane remains the only player worth drafting in fantasy leagues, but hopefully the Miami offensive line can start generating some rushing lanes.
