Falcons WR Darnell Mooney remains sidelined with the shoulder injury he suffered on July 24. HC Raheem Morris said Tuesday that Mooney is "week to week" with no clear timetable for return.
Morris on Mooney: "Kind of just waiting and rolling. Kind of a week-to-week basis. I feel good about getting him back healthy and ready to go. When? I don’t know. We’ll have him back healthy this year, though."
"We'll have him back healthy this year" isn't the most reassuring quote. We still have no details on Mooney's injury and never got an expected timetable for his return.
Morris admitted on July 30 that Mooney's status for Week 1 was uncertain. And it's looking more and more like he's in danger of missing the start of the season.
We're giving Mooney a slight bump down the WR rankings and will continue to keep a close eye on his status.
His absence would mean more targets to go around for Drake London, Ray-Ray McCloud, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson.
