Rookie QB Shedeur Sanders suffered an oblique strain during Wednesday's practice. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Sanders will not practice Thursday and is unlikely to play in Cleveland’s second preseason game against the Eagles.

Sanders was impressive in his first NFL action last week, but an oblique strain will likely spoil any hopes of an encore performance.
Cleveland’s QB room is extremely banged up at the moment, as both Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett are dealing with hamstring injuries. Gabriel, however, appears to have the better chance of playing. If he’s cleared and Pickett remains sidelined, the rookie out of Oregon would be in line for a good amount of reps on Saturday against the Eagles.
QB Joe Flacco is the clear favorite to open the season under center, but the backup job in Cleveland is very much available.
