Lions TE Sam LaPorta is going to miss “a little bit of time” with an injury, according to Nolan Bianchi of Detroit News.
What They're Saying
Bianchi: “ Lions TE Sam LaPorta will miss a little bit of time, per [Dan] Campbell.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
There isn't a ton of clarity on exactly what LaPorta is dealing with, though it appears to be nothing to worry about long-term. But with fantasy drafts heating up, it is certainly something worth keeping an eye on. LaPorta’s sophomore season saw him play through an early ankle sprain that, while not costing him any games, definitely impacted his performance on the field. He would later go on to miss one contest with a shoulder injury.
In LaPorta’s absence, TEs Brock Wright and Shane Zylstra will get more reps with the starting offense. Translation: More targets for WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
LaPorta should be fine for Week 1. He checks in as the TE4 in our rankings.
