Vikings’ WR Jalen Nailor hurt his hand and will undergo further evaluation, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic.
What They're Saying
Lewis: “Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said S Josh Metellus hurt his shoulder in the two-minute. He’ll get evaluated. W Jalen Nailor has a hand injury. Will get evaluated, too. The WR depth right now warrants convo, regardless.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Considering the state of Minnesota’s WR room right now, this is notable.
Justin Jefferson is unlikely to suit up during the preseason, as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring strain. Jordan Addison is suspended for the first three games of the season. And Rondale Moore’s season ended before it began. Nailor is expected to operate as the team’s WR2 in Addison’s absence, but if he is forced to miss time, it’ll leave the Vikings incredibly thin at wideout.
In two starts for Addison last season, Nailor produced, hauling in six passes for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns. But it wasn’t due to volume. He was targeted on just 13.4% of his routes during that stretch, while seeing a total of eight targets.
Don’t be surprised if the Vikings look to add an experienced WR before Week 1. But regardless, expect Jefferson, TE TJ Hockenson and RB Aaron Jones to remain busy in the passing game.
