The Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that the Browns' pass-catching corps outside of WR Jerry Jeudy and TE Harold Fannin has underwhelmed in camp. Jackson specifically mentions WR Diontae Johnson as a disappointment.
What They're Saying
Jackson: "Johnson’s opportunities with the starters have been limited and rather forgettable. Finding at least one external upgrade at wide receiver has to be a priority ..."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
We've had some interest in Johnson as a late-round flier in fantasy drafts considering his resume and the overall lack of competition in Cleveland. But it doesn't sound like Johnson has capitalized on the opportunity.
It's not a big surprise after how his 2024 season went. We'll see if Johnson can turn things around over the next few weeks. But, for now, avoid him in fantasy drafts.
Other Winners & Losers
WR Jamari Thrash has reportedly been running ahead of Johnson as Cleveland's first-team slot receiver. He's still not worth a roster spot in redraft fantasy leagues but could be worth stashing in deep dynasty setups.
