The Bears have signed RB Royce Freeman. He last played for the Rams in 2023.
It's not surprising to see Chicago add a RB, and they might not be done in that department. But I don't expect Freeman to make an impact for the 2025 Bears (or any of your fantasy football teams).
Chicago placed RB Deion Hankins on IR Wednesday, creating the roster spot for Freeman. The team also still sports D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, Kyle Monangai, Brittain Brown, and Ian Wheeler at the position. Johnson, Monangai, and Homer are all dealing with minor injury situations.
So bet on Freeman just proving to be a camp body. If he makes the regular-season roster, it'll be bad news for the Chicago backfield. He has averaged 3.8 yards per rush for his career and hasn't reached 30 rushing yards per game in a season since 2019.
