49ers’ WR Demarcus Robinson has been suspended three games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
In his first season with the 49ers, Robinson will follow the tradition of San Francisco wide receivers: missing games.
Jauan Jennings is out with a calf injury. Brandon Aiyuk will likely miss the first five or six weeks of the season. Jacob Cowing aggravated his hamstring, and Jordan Watkins will miss about a month with an ankle injury. Now, as HC Kyle Shanahan told KNBR radio, the team will also be without Robinson for three games.
Robinson caught seven TDs with the Rams last year, operating as an underrated red zone target. Even on a team with WRs Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, Robinson still accounted for nearly 21% of Los Angeles’ targets from inside the 10-yard line. San Francisco has reportedly been in the market for WR help, and this news likely only escalates that search.
Expect RB Christian McCaffrey, TE George Kittle and WR Ricky Pearsall to see a ton of touches to open the 2025 campaign.
