With RB De’Von Achane already sidelined with a soft tissue calf injury, the Dolphins didn’t need another RB to go down. RB Jaylen Wright walked off the practice field slowly and was taken into the medical facility for more evaluation. Rookie Ollie Gordon II replaced him at practice.

The Dolphins’ RB room has thinned over the past few weeks. Alexander Mattison is out for the season with a neck injury, while De’Von Achane remains sidelined but is expected back for Week 1.
Jaylen Wright took first-team reps in the second preseason game with Achane out. We’ll see if his injury forces him to miss time.
If Wright is sidelined into the regular season, Ollie Gordon II will likely step in as the backup behind Achane.
Gordon surprisingly slipped to the seventh round of the NFL Draft despite rushing for 1,732 yards and 21 TDs in 2023.
He also impressed in the second preseason game and looked poised to earn regular-season work.
We’ll continue monitoring Wright’s health and the RB situation, especially with players like Brian Robinson reportedly on the trading block.
