RB TreVeyon Henderson has been a good bet to play a big role in the Patriots' passing game since the moment he was selected 38th overall back in April. But The Athletic's Chad Graff believes the rookie's performance in August might make him the team's lead ball carrier, too. "Before training camp, it was easy to envision [Rhamondre] Stevenson as the Patriots’ primary ball carrier with Henderson mixing in on third downs and [Antonio] Gibson spelling those two when needed," Graff writes. "But Henderson’s strong summer makes it seem reasonable that he’ll get half the carries, if not more."
What They're Saying
VP of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf: “With TreVeyon, everyone sees the speed, everyone saw the pass protection, the ability to get outside. I’ve been maybe most impressed with his ability to run between the tackles. Not that he couldn’t do that in college, but I think his vision and his instincts there have been really impressive, and he continues to improve each week.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Few players were more impressive this preseason than Henderson, who averaged 7.6 yards per carry, caught three of four targets, and scored a 100-yard kick return TD. The rookie has reportedly been just as explosive in training camp.
He's set to play a big role right away in a New England passing game that's in need of some juice. Adding a significant rushing role could vault Henderson's ceiling into RB1 territory.
His price tag has been on the rise, but Henderson is worth considering if you can get him in Round 4 of fantasy drafts.
