The New Orleans Saints have named Spencer Rattler as the team’s Week 1 starting QB, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Rattler and rookie QB Tyler Shough have been battling for the starting position for weeks. And after a tight competition, HC Kellen Moore will give the nod to Rattler.
During his rookie season in 2024, Rattler started six games, completing just 57% of his passes for 1,317 yards and four TDs. Outside of deep superflex formats, Rattler doesn’t demand your fantasy football attention, especially considering Shough could very well start games at some point this season. We’ll see how Rattler being under center impacts the fantasy prospects of RB Alvin Kamara, as well as WRs Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.
