The Seattle Seahawks have released veteran WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
What They're Saying
Fowler: “The Seahawks are releasing wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, per source. He signed a one-year, $4M deal with the club this offseason.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
This doesn’t come as a huge surprise. MVS has underwhelmed during Seattle’s training camp, while rookie WR Tory Horton has steadily impressed.
Horton will now enter his rookie season as the WR3 in Seattle. And given Cooper Kupp’s age and injury history, there could come a time where Horton emerges as the WR2. After transferring to Colorado State, Horton really took off. From 2022-2023, he averaged 83.5 receptions, nearly 1,200 yards and eight TDs, while commanding a 31% target share.
His dynasty value is on the rise, but Horton is also worth a late-round selection in deeper redraft formats.
