The Chargers have moved RB Najee Harris from the non-football injury list to the active roster, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He is now eligible to play in Week 1.
What They're Saying
Rapoport: “The Chargers are moving RB Najee Harris to the active roster from the non-football injury list, per me and Tom Pelissero. Harris is recovering from injuries, facial and otherwise, sustained in a fireworks accident but has been working and getting ready. A good sign.”

Chargers’ GM Joe Horitz stated that Harris was on track to play Week 1, and with the team removing him from the non-football injury list, he’ll at least have a chance.
That said, Harris has yet to participate in full-speed practice, limited to light jogging off to the side. And while he apparently feels good, this still doesn’t guarantee he’ll be active for next Friday’s contest against the Chiefs. But it does signal he’s close.
Even if Harris does suit up, rookie RB Omarion Hampton would likely lead this backfield, as the veteran will be eased in. And while we do believe Hampton is going to become the featured RB in this offense at some point, Harris avoiding the PUP list does dampen the rookie’s early-season upside.
We're not moving Hampton down at all. He still checks in as the RB15 in our rankings.
