Add a league for Mock Drafting, Draft War Room & In-season sync
The San Francisco 49ers have placed WR Brandon Aiyuk on the PUP list, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. He’ll miss at least the four weeks of the season.
This isn’t a surprise at all.
49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said to expect Aiyuk to return around Week 6 or 7, so a stint on the PUP list was always the expectation. Aiyuk continues to work his way back from a torn ACL and MCL he suffered in Week 7 of last season. Between his absence and fellow WR Jauan Jennings sidelined with a calf injury, sophomore WR Ricky Pearsall could very well end up operating as San Francisco’s WR1 in the opener against the Seahawks.
Pearsall’s first audition as the lead role came during Week 2 of the preseason. He connected with QB Brock Purdy three times for 42 yards on the first drive before exiting the game. If that performance is any indication, the hype is warranted.
He’s now climbed to WR34 in our rankings and profiles as a strong breakout candidate in 2025.
