Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles shared that TE Cade Otton is dealing with a leg injury in addition to the hamstring injury that already was keeping Otton sidelined. Bowles commented that Otton would be “out for a bit” and that he doesn’t know if the injury will bleed into Week 1.
What They're Saying
River Wells of Bucs Gameday: “Todd Bowles says that Cade Otton has another leg injury on top of a hamstring he’s been dealing with. He says he’ll be “out for a little bit” but says he doesn’t know if it will bleed into Week 1 yet”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
With Chris Godwin unlikely to play the first few weeks, Cade Otton had a prime chance for early fantasy points. Instead, he’ll likely enter Week 1 on the injury report.
We reported on Otton's "mild" hamstring injury back in July, but that appears to still be bothering him along with this new leg injury.
If Otton sits, TEs Payne Durham and Devin Culp will rotate. Durham might be a streaming option in very deep leagues, but he’s best left on waivers.
Other Winners & Losers
Otton’s absence could benefit rookie WR Emeka Egbuka. Filling the No. 2 role while Godwin is out, Egbuka could see plenty of early-season targets after drawing rave reviews at camp.
