Broncos’ WR Marvin Mims Jr. left Wednesday’s practice early with a groin injury. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team isn’t “overly concerned.”

Mims did not return to practice and while the Broncos are still evaluating him, Schefter reports that the team isn’t overly concerned. We’ll get an update over the next few days, but if Mims misses practice time leading up to Week 1, it could provide an opportunity for WRs Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant to earn more reps.
A full-time role finally appears to be in the cards for Mims this season. He’s functioned as Denver’s WR2 throughout the preseason, running a route on every single Bo Nix dropback. He flashed potential once his role expanded in the second half of last year, averaging 4.6 targets, 4.0 receptions, 55.9 receiving yards, 1.5 carries and 14.4 PPR points per game from Week 10 on.
Keep an eye on Mims’ status going forward, but all three secondary Broncos WRs are worth a late-round selection in fantasy drafts.
