Buffalo Bills’ WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday, according to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.
What They're Saying
Getzenberg: “Making a very significant return to practice on Wednesday: WR Khalil Shakir. First day back since the high ankle sprain at the stadium practice.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Shakir sprained his ankle on the first day of August and was given a 4-6 week recovery window.
Nearly four weeks to the day, Buffalo’s top target is back on the practice field.
The team has expressed confidence that Shakir would be available for their Week 1 game against the Ravens on Sunday Night Football. And barring any setbacks, that appears to be the case. Shakir was QB Josh Allen’s go-to WR last year, drawing a target on 28.7% of his routes, the 16th-highest rate in the NFL.
While Buffalo will continue their "everybody eats” approach on offense, with a renewed emphasis on the ground game, Shakir still projects as the WR1 in an elite offense. Consider him a rock-solid weekly FLEX option in full PPR formats.
He currently checks in as the WR41 in our rankings.
