Chargers RB Najee Harris (eye) has been cleared for contact, HC Jim Harbaugh said Monday. Harbaugh stopped short of guaranteeing that Harris will play vs. the Chiefs on Friday night, though, once again saying it's a "possibility."
Harbaugh on Harris: "He's looked really good in practice. Cleared for contact. Just take it one day at a time."
Getting cleared for contact was seemingly the last medical hurdle for Harris to clear. Now it's about what kind of shape he's in. He hardly did anything in training camp after the July 4 fireworks accident.
We'll continue to keep a close eye on Harris' status over the next few days. He shouldn't be in your Week 1 fantasy plans, but his availability would add some downside risk to RB Omarion Hampton.
