The Athletic's Daniel Popper posted on X that Chargers' RB Najee Harris is "ramping it up" in preparation to play in LA's season opener on Friday in Brazil.
Harris returned to practice last week after being sidelined for a month following a July 4 fireworks incident. Per the post, Harris told reporters that he was "feeling good" and that the eye injuries he suffered were "superficial."
In March, Harris signed a one-year, $5.25 million deal with the Chargers.
One month later, Jim Harbaugh used the 22nd pick of the 2025 NFL Draft on North Carolina RB Omarion Hampton.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Harris has been a steady fantasy performer. He has eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards in each of this first four campaigns. However, in Harris' absence, Omarion Hampton has looked like a potential three-down workhorse.
That complicates Harris' playing time as he tries to get back into football shape after missing most of training camp and the preseason.
Hampton is a borderline RB1, while Harris should be viewed as a potential depth target with the potential to sport some weekly streaming value in a run-heavy offense.
