The Broncos have ruled LB Dre Greenlaw out for Sunday's game against the Titans. That's not a surprise after Greenlaw missed practice all week. It appears Greenlaw has had a setback with the quad he injured back in April.
What They're Saying
DC Vance Joseph after Greenlaw missed Thursday's practice: "Dre’s working hard and we’ll see what happens on Sunday, but we have guys that are capable."

I included that quote because it seems noteworthy that Joseph didn't -- as far as we can tell -- know Thursday whether Greenlaw would be ready to play. If that was truly the case, then we might be looking at Greenlaw being ready soon.
It's obviously not good for his short- or long-term outlook, though, that the LB hasn't been able to shake that injury. Initially reported as a potential season-ender -- in April -- the quad issue did linger into camp.
HC Sean Payton said the team managed Greenlaw's practice reps as he dealt with scar tissue from the injury. Greenlaw seemed on track over the past couple of weeks, though.
Instead, Justin Strnad figures to join Alex Singleton in the starting lineup. Singleton -- who's coming off a September ACL tear -- is the better bet for IDP production. He has stud potential if he gets close to full playing time.
The LB situation could also mean more DB-heavy sub packages.
