Giants HC Brian Daboll declined to commit to QB Russell Wilson as the team's starter going forward after the Week 1 loss to Washington, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. Wilson struggled vs. the Commanders, completing just 17 of 37 passes (46%) for 168 scoreless yards (4.5 YPA).
What They're Saying
Daboll when asked if he's considering a QB change: "We're going to get home and look at our game. ... I've got confidence in Russ. We'll go back, evaluate the tape. This game isn't on Russell Wilson. It's not on Russell Wilson. Let me make that clear. I have confidence in Russ. We have to do a better job all the way around."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
We'd be surprised if the Giants pulled the plug on Wilson this quickly. But a couple more games like this and it'll be tough to keep QB Jaxson Dart on the bench.
The rookie was excellent this preseason, completing 32 of his 47 attempts (68%) for 3 TDs and 0 INTs, and is the Giants' hopeful QB of the future.
We'll keep you updated on this situation. But Dart should be owned in all 2-QB and superflex leagues and is even worth stashing in deep 1-QB leagues. His big arm and rushing ability would give him legitimate fantasy upside.
