The Patriots' Week 1 loss to the Raiders found Kayshon Boutte leading the WR corps across the board. His eight targets tied TE Hunter Henry for the team lead. Boutte's 6 receptions tied two others for the team lead. His 103 receiving yards beat his nearest teammate by 37. And Boutte led the group in both total snaps (58 of 71) and routes (44 of 53). No other Patriot reached 40 routes for the game.

The Patriots rotated in four WRs regularly. Here's how their total snaps compared (according to Pro Football Focus):
- Boutte 58
- Demario Douglas 45
- Stefon Diggs 40
- Mack Hollins 38
And their pass routes:
- Boutte 44
- Douglas 39
- Diggs 37
- Hollins 21
The big passing volume (46 attempts) boosted everyone's numbers. But Boutte was the only guy who served as a primary option across two- and three-WR sets. That also lines up with how consistently he stayed on the field and drew targets over the second half of last season.
We'll see whether Diggs' usage picks up as he gets further removed from last year's ACL tear. But Boutte looks like a target for plenty of Week 2 waiver wire runs.
Week 2 holds an upside visit to Miami, which allowed 30 points to the Colts in Week 1. After that come home dates with the Steelers and Panthers.
