The Broncos registered 40 pass attempts vs. just 22 RB runs in their Week 1 win over the Titans. Fourteen of team's first 17 plays were passes. HC Sean Payton is looking for more balance going forward. “I’ve got to be better there,” Payton said. “It’s one of those day-afters where you look back and say, ‘Alright, let’s look at how we really wanted to start that game and get those two runners going,’ because we think we’ve really improved in that area.”

The run-pass split was particularly surprising considering QB Bo Nix was not good in the opener (4.4 yards per attempt with one TD and two INTs). Denver had just a one-point lead in the fourth quarter, but RBs R.J. Harvey and J.K. Dobbins locked up the win with big runs. Harvey busted a 50-yarder and Dobbins scored from 19 yards out a few plays later.
Look for more carries for that duo in Week 2 against the Colts, although RB Tyler Badie's involvement in the opener (six targets on 11 routes) is a slight concern, particularly for Harvey.
