Seahawks rookie S Nick Emmanwori suffered a high ankle sprain on his fifth play of Sunday's loss to the 49ers and now appears likely to miss multiple games.
What They're Saying
ESPN's Brady Henderson: "[HC] Mike Macdonald said S Nick Emmanwori actually does have a high ankle sprain (he said postgame it didn't look like one), and that a stint on IR is under consideration."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
If they're looking at IR, that indicates the team things Emmanwori's likely to miss three games and is trying to decide if it wants to sideline him for four. That decision will give some clarity.
You can obviously go ahead and make other plans before that, though.
Don't expect another Seattle DB to assume Emmanwori's role. Safeties Coby Bryant and Julian Love already looked like good bets for full playing time even if the rookie hadn't gone down in the opener.
The other three DBs who played double-digit snaps against San Francisco were the top three corners.
Other Winners & Losers
CB Josh Jobe might be a playing-time winner for Emmanwori's absence. He works the slot, which is likely to factor into Emmanwori's role as well. Macdonald has said Jobe will play more in the wake of a good Week 1 performance.
