Jordan Mason out-carried Aaron Jones 15-8, but both backs had quality fantasy outings in Minnesota's 27-24 victory. The split backfield we envisioned came to fruition in Week 1, but the results were encouraging for both players.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Mason churned out 68 yards on his 15 rushes (4.5) YPC, with a long of 19 yards. He was in on 57% of the Vikings' snaps, including all of the red-zone snaps.
Jones was in on 47% of Minnesota's snaps. He struggled to gain much traction as a runner, accumulating 23 yards on his 8 attempts (2.9 YPC).
However, Jones caught 3 passes for a team-high 44 yards, including a 27-yard TD to give the Vikings the lead in the 4th quarter. Jones also drew a pass interference call on another first-half deep ball down the sidelines.
Week 1 was a good opener for both members of the Vikings' dynamic duo.
Both Mason and Jones remain viable fantasy options in Week 2 at home versus the Falcons.
